Kihei Holiday Unit 120 – Guest stay February 2019

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

“Just returned from a week stay (February 4-10) at Kathy’s rental property in North Kihei. Having never been to Hawaii before we booked our stay not really knowing the location or what to expect.  During peak season the price was right and the photos looked perfect so we had no hesitation securing the reservation. Leading up to check-in, Kathy was great, she sent lots of information and was very clear about any details & policies surrounding the rental. Check-in was super easy (just make sure you have your instructions) as the keyless entry is a breeze. Here’s a few extra details. Rental Unit: Fully equipped with everything you need, we didn’t run out of any basics during our week stay and there were plenty of towels + beach towels to go around. The linens were comfortable and light (because it can get a little warm in the bedrooms) but there are multiple fans in each room along with the main AC unit in the living room. Parking is super easy and it is right in front of this place on ground level, so it makes it SUPER easy to get your luggage in and out… no stairs!  Despite not having a great view of the water which the photos accurately showed, the Lanai is very comfortable and you can hear the waves or sit outside if its raining. Internet and TV also worked perfect along with any other appliance. Washer/Dryer are nice and appreciated the laundry pods! Also must say the photos really didn’t do this unit justice, it is very very clean, modern and well-maintained.  Master bedroom is very spacious with big closet and living room is huge with dining room also. Great for entertaining friends and cooking dinner. Location: This is definitely North Kihei as the listing states so don’t be fooled if you think you can walk easily everywhere you will need a car or Uber/Lyft which are readily available and fairly cheap ($10 to main Kihei, $20 to Wailea). Lots of amenities within a short drive (Liquor store, grocery stores, drugstores) etc. within a few minutes. Beach Access: This unit is literally right across the street from the beach – maybe 150 yards. Perfect for morning walks and late evening sunsets, it’s very beautiful and you can walk for quit a bit. The beach by the property certainly isn’t the best beach in Kihei, but there is no shortage of families or people out and around on it. It’s sandy bottom with limited rocks so it’s great in that sense but there’s certainly nicer beaches the further south you go (Kamole, Wailea) etc., but it is very good for the location to the condo. We saw SO many whales while sitting on the beach, along with wind surfers. It’s a great spot to relax on a chair 🙂  Pool/BBQs: Certainly exceeded our expectations. Right across from the unit it is easily accessible and was very clean. Pool and hot tub are nice and BBQs (2) are great for grilling out. Photos didn’t do it justice! Extra perks: Boogie boards (x2), big beach towels, beach chairs (x3), snorkle gear, laundry pods, kitchen essentials + a lot of extras, cleaning supplies, extra sheets, lots of normal towels” – Morgan B. & Dustin Y.
